Goats can graze with other livestock on productive land, but also thrive on rugged terrain.

Goats can be a useful, low-cost weed control tool. Next, you will see a large list of plant species goats will target with a goat palatability rating beside each in the form of a goat icon. Plants with three goats beside them are eaten by goats in preference to pasture at all stages of growth, whereas the lower rated plants are eaten at specific stages (e.g when flowering).

Goats boost pasture clover content

Clover is a goat's least favourite food. When goats are free to choose, clover makes up only 2% of the goat's diet

Goats target weeds, seed heads and roughage while rejecting clover. Goats can improve pasture clover content by up to 30% by opening up the pasture sward for clover growth.
